HYFUELUP PROJECT HOLDS ITS M18 STEERING COMMITTEE IN STUTTGART (GERMANY)

With the first reporting period in mind, the HYFUELUP project consortium gathered in Stuttgart (Germany) for its M18 Steering Committee meeting on 21-22 May 2024.

At a turning point for the project, when the progress of the different WPs is starting to generate the early results, each of the partners had the chance to share their advances, challenges, plans and ideas for the coming months. Thanks to the presentations, meetings and visits that took place, it was also been the ideal occasion to raise and resolve doubts about the development of the project and to benefit from the know-how of each of the partners that make up the consortium.

The M18 Steering Committee meeting also provided the opportunity for the consortium to make two visits fully in line with the project and its objectives: the Teaching and research sewage treatment plant (LFKW) at the University of Stuttgart and the IFK’s Pilot Scale Test facilities. The Treatment Plant for Education and Research is affiliated with the Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management (ISWA) at the University of Stuttgart. It is quite unique because it is today, at least in Europe, the only treatment plant owned by a university institute.

Both visits allowed us to resolve doubts in situ about the more technical part of the project, to get new ideas and to better understand some of the processes involved.

After this meeting, and the exhaustive review of our first 18 months together, the HYFUELUP project is now more ready than ever to face the new stage that lies ahead and the challenges it will bring with it.
